Making homemade marinades is so easy, far more cost-effective than buying them, and you can doctor them up with what you have on hand and enjoy. Ive provided instructions on grilling pork chops on a gas grill below, but have also given charcoal grill instructions in the recipe card below.

To make this homemade marinade and pork chops on the grill, simply do the following:

Step 1: Combine all the ingredients except the pork chops and parsley in a large ziptop bag.

Step 2: Add the pork chops to the bag, seal, and squish everything around to combine and coat evenly.

Step 3: Refrigerate for 1 hour.

Step 4: Preheat an outdoor gas grill to medium and when its hot, add the pork chops.

Step 5: Cook for about 6 to 8 minutes per side and then let the chops rest off the grill.

Step 6: Optionally garnish with parsley and serve!

How To Make The Marinade

First – for this recipe I use a Montreal Steak Seasoning Copycat, with:

  • Red Pepper Flakes

All tossed together and mixed in a bowl.

Then add some olive oil and soy sauce to a separate bowl and give it a good mix.

Then it’s a rub of the seasoning on some boneless pork chops and add the chops. Add the soy and oil to a zip lock bag for a lovely little marinade. Let it marinate for a few hours, and while it does, think about the deliciousness you can serve with it!

How To Tell If Pork Chops Are Done

Investing in a digital instant-read meat thermometer is key to perfectly cooked, juicy grilled pork chops. Youll avoid the guesswork and know exactly when to take your pork chops off the grill before they get dry and overcooked. When you think your pork chops are almost done, insert the thermometer into the thickest part of the meat without touching the bone, and the temperature should register within a few seconds. As soon as the temperature reads 145 degrees, take them off the grill.

If you dont have a meat thermometer yet, not to worry. There are other ways to gauge the readiness of your pork chops. The best way is to gently poke the meat with your finger or a fork to determine its firmness. If the meat is soft and spongy, it will still be raw in the middle. If the meat is firm and leathery, it is well done.

The perfect chop will be firm, but not hard. Once you remove the pork chops from the grill and they have rested for 5 minutes, you can cut into the thickest part of the meat and check the color. Perfectly done pork that has reached 145 degrees can still be a little pink, but any juices you see should be clear. If you think your meat is still undercooked, throw them back on the grill for 1-2 minutes and check again.

Serve tender and flavourful pork chops every time with our tips and recipe ideas. This meat is delicious when griddled, pan-fried, roasted or grilled.

Pork chops, like steak, are versatile and easy to cook. Taken from the loin of the pig, they have a generous fat layer on one side and sometimes have a small piece of bone left in. Served with vegetables and mustard or a simple sauce, they make a great speedy meal however, they can easily become tough and dry if youre not careful with the temperature or timings.

The key with chops is to maximise the flavour by cooking the fat on the outside really well over a high heat. This should be done quickly so as not to dry out the meat inside. You can help to keep the chops nice and tender by doing one of the following:

  • Resting them after cooking
  • Finishing them in a low oven
  • Cooling the pan of seared chops by adding a liquid like cider
  • Roasting them on top of vegetables so as to protect one side from the intense heat

The quickest way to cook pork chops is to pan-fry or griddle them. As the chops can be quite large this method is best when serving one or two people. If youre cooking for more you might want to try roasting or grilling.

How To Season Pork Chops For The Grill

Yes, you can use a million different types of seasoning for pork chops on the grill, but I like my grilled boneless pork chops the same way I like my handmade, juicy burgers: simply with a generous amount of kosher salt. We all have iodized salt in our cabinets because it is the cheapest at the store, but that doesnt mean it is the best salt for cooking. Not only does the addition of iodine alter the flavors of whatever you add it to, but its tiny crystal size makes it dissolve too quickly, leading to over-salting. If you remember only one point from this post, let it be this: everything you cook and bake will taste better if you use kosher salt instead of iodized salt!

Is It Ok To Cook Pork Medium

Well-done pork is usually dry and tough, but many people are afraid to eat pork if it is still pink in the middle. Fortunately, according to the latest USDA guidelines, it is perfectly safe to eat pork cooked medium-rare. The recommended internal temperature for pork is 145 degrees Fahrenheit.

Its worth investing in a meat thermometer to ensure your pork is safe to eat before pulling it off the grill. If you dont want to use a thermometer, youll reach that temperature by grilling your chops for about 6-8 minutes per side . If you want your pork with no pink in the middle, cook it to an internal temperature of 160 degrees F, 8-10 minutes per side.

    Pineapple Bourbon Bbq Sauce

The Best Ideas for Grilled Boneless Pork Loin Chops

Ok, we need to talk about this BBQ sauce for a minute. To get the most flavor out of your pork chops, make this tasty Pineapple Bourbon BBQ Sauce. It’s thick and bold but not overpowering, so it is a perfect match for the pork!

Here’s my pro tip – make this sauce on the weekend when you have a little more time. It takes about 30-40 minutes start to finish. While you wait for the sauce to simmer, cut up the pineapple, and chop your green peppers and red onions for the kabobs.

Store the pineapple in air-tight container by itself. The peppers and onions can be combined in their own container. The BBQ sauce can be stored in a mason jar with a lid. Refrigerate everything until serving day.

If you prefer, you can use a similarly flavored store-bought BBQ sauce. However, this pineapple bourbon sauce is so good, you can literally eat it from the jar with a spoon…

I mean, not that I’ve done that… ahem.
