Dallas, TX Studio Movie Grill continues its commitment to reopen theaters with additional locations opening this Friday, August 14 at Arlington Lincoln Square and Plano in Texas, Duluth in Georgia and Wheaton in Illinois.
SMG is extremely happy to safely welcome guests back to movies on the big screen. We have a wide variety of films playing including classics and several new releases from smaller distributors; which are impressively driving pre-pandemic levels of attendance. New movies from the major studios are right around the corner including the highly anticipated Tenet from Warner Bros, Founder/CEO Brian Schultz shared.
SMG attributes much of its success to a handful of new initiatives, new technologies, and the continued loyalty from SMG Access members. As the brand celebrates its love of movies and our heartfelt gratitude, new and existing SMG Access members can reserve four free movie tickets for select CLASSICS films when they log in and book through the SMG App, said Tonya Mangels, Head of Revenue and Marketing. We added new perks including earning points on food and drinks, plus upgraded the app for convenient, contactless menu ordering. Access membership is free, and the SMG App is available for download at Apples App Store or on Google Play. Once logged in, any Access member can use the offer up to once daily through August 23.
Studio Movie Grill Review
The most important concept that made SMG unique is having a complete meal and made-to-order food menu. Most cinemas serve contemporary theater fare, but it was not what SMG wanted to offer its customers.

Tickets can be purchased at the Box Office, online, or at a theatre kiosk. SMG screens two types of movies, 2D and 3D, with varying prices for children and adults.
Customers are encouraged to arrive 15-20 minutes early and they have the option to eat at the tables outside the theatre or they could bring the meals inside since each seat has a swinging table with sufficient leg room.
Four seating options are available depending on the viewers preference:
- Table A and B seats, which offer stationary chairs or desks.
- Lounge seats, which includes a tray table and bigger seating area.
- Counter-top seats, which are good for a group of people.
- Reclining lounge seat that also comes with a tray table.

Studio Movie Grill In Tyler To Reopen June 19
TYLER, Texas After being closed for nearly three months, Studio Movie Grill has announced their Tyler location will reopen to the public on Friday, June 19.
SMG closed their theaters, nationwide, on March 20, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Its always our goal to make SMG the best place to watch a movie,” SMG said in a statement. “Behind the scenes, our team has been hard at work creating a cleaner, safer, and better SMG experience for everyone. We know that going to the movies will feel a little different, but were in this together.”
SMG says they expect to open for seven days a week, from late afternoon through evenings during the first phase of reopening, and look forward to quickly returning to standard hours.
TEAM MEMBER HEALTH AND SAFETY:
- Every team member is required to have a health check prior to starting work, including disclosure they are not sick and havent been in close contact with anyone experiencing signs of sickness.
- While working, team members will wear a PPE mask.
- Team members will wear gloves per guidelines while handling food.
- Gloves will be replaced after physical contact, in addition to scheduled changes.
- Team members must follow frequent handwashing protocols, per CDC guidelines.
- As part of the return-to-work procedures and prior to any interactions with guests, all team members will receive training in contactless protocols, cleaning and disinfection, and proper hygiene. Team members will be trained in CDC recommended COVID-19 safety guidelines.
