Luna Grill Signs First Licensing Deal With Sycuan Casino

Luna Grill continues its expansion trajectory with its first-ever licensing deal for a location in Sycuan Casino’s $226 million new development, slated to open later this spring.

Luna Grill will have a location inside Sycuan’s “UnCommons,” a fast casual dining experience featuring five San Diego restaurants and a variety of cuisines for guests to enjoy. Luna Grill joins other iconic brands such as Phils BBQ, Hodads, The Hangry Slice and Lucha Libre Gourmet Taco Shop in the new dining hall.

Luna Grill is a pioneer of the Luxe Casual movement, providing fast, wholesome food that the whole family can enjoy. Founded in 2004, Luna Grill offers fresh Mediterranean cuisine such as signature kabob plates, gourmet salads, appetizers including hummus and falafel, wraps, desserts, craft beer and wine in a contemporary setting. The concept has now grown to 48 locations in Southern California, Inland Empire and the Dallas Fort Worth area and the Sycuan spot will be the company’s 50th restaurant with the 49th scheduled to open later this month in the 4S Ranch area of San Diego.

SAN DIEGO, CA San Diego-based Luna Grill, a fast-casual chain known for its Mediterranean cuisine, today launched its “Feeding the Frontline” program, with a pledge to serve 20,000 meals to area hospital employees engaged in the coronavirus battle.

“San Diego is our home. We live here and work here, and in this time of need, everyone is looking for ways to do good. We do good with food,” said Rich Pinnella, the company’s chief brand officer.”One of the ways we know we can help and show our appreciation to those critical healthcare workers at local hospitals is the donation of fresh, hot, nourishing meals.”

Luna Grill’s catering team is coordinating with area hospital staffs to determine needs, hours and locations for meal deliveries in coming weeks to multiple locations, he said.
