Check it in the freezer whenever you think of it, or specifically, after a power outage. If you see that the coin has dropped to the bottom of the cup, you now know that your freezer food may have been compromised, and it may not be a good day to use the beef patties anymore. Next take the frozen hamburgers out of the freezer and use a wooden spatula to separate them. If you have some spare time, then wait few minutes for the hamburgers to thaw a little. It will be much easier to get them separated and the condiments will stick to the meat much better. So put some salt and pepper on the hamburgers or whatever else you like.
Once the temperature inside the grill is just right, you can start grilling. Place the hamburgers on the grates and close the lid if your grill has one.

Note: We prepared our five patties using the pan method described above and they came out perfect!
The Cold Water Method

To thaw the patties using cold water, place them in a sturdy leakproof plastic bag. Seal the bag and place it in a sink full of cold water. Alternatively, you can use a bowl or basin, as long as its large enough to submerge the bag completely.
After about 10 minutes, the patties should be soft enough on the outside to allow the seasonings to adhere. At this point, its safe to begin cooking them. If you have more time to work with, feel free to continue the thawing process until the meat is soft throughout.
Rememberif youve used this method, the burgers will need to be cooked as soon as possible after thawing. Its unsafe to refrigerate meat thats been thawed in cold water. If youve defrosted too much, youll still need to cook it off before returning it to the freezer.

According to the food code, ground beef should be cooked at 155 degrees F internally and held there for 15 seconds, or 158 degrees for even a moment, in order to kill pathogens at the center of the meat. Unlike a rare steak, a rare burger is risky because the germs from the outside of the meat have been ground inside.
One: Preheat The Grill
Make sure your grill is clean before firing it up! Built up food residue can cause foods to stick and give unsavory flavors to the food youre cooking.
Once the grill is clean and ready to go, now its time to get it ready for grilling.
To prevent the burger patties from sticking to the grill, youll want to preheat it.
Preheat the grill to 350 degrees for about 10 minutes.
If youre using a charcoal grill or a gas grill that doesnt have a thermometer, you can use the hand test to estimate the temperature of the grill.
To do this, youll want to hold your hand above the grill at the height of a soda can.
If the heat isnt too much by 7-9 seconds, the grill is roughly between 250 and 300.
If it takes 6-7 seconds for you to move your hand, the grill will be around 300-350 degrees.
Any shorter time and the grill is anywhere from 350 degrees and up.
Be cautious when using this technique so you dont burn yourself!
Now its ready to use!
