Do You Wrap Ribs In Foil When Grilling

How to grill Boneless Beef Ribs | Recipe

The foil will prevent the ribs for benefitting from any smoke which is why I recommend starting them w/o the foil AND with wood chips. Ater about two hours of sub 250 degree smoke infused indirect heat the ribs will be warm but not so hot that you cant wrap them in foil. SO get the foil out there and wrap em then.

How To Brine Pork Chops

For juicy, flavorful pork chops, try brining the chops before grilling or broiling two high-heat cooking methods that can quickly dry out lean pork chops.

Brines are essentially salty, sugary water solutions they’ll keep the meat moist, while adding flavor. To make a basic brine, you’ll need salt and a few flavor-making ingredients. Chef John combines kosher salt with cloves, molasses , and enough hot water to dissolve the salt and molasses. Then he adds enough cool water to make 2 quarts.

Refrigerate your chops in the brine from anywhere between 30 minutes to 12 hours you can get away with less time in a pinch. Be sure to dry off the chops thoroughly before taking them to the grill or oven. Other seasonings to try: peppercorns, fresh herbs, garlic, cut lemons.

How To Cook Country Style Pork Ribs In The Oven

For fall-apart meat, country-style ribs really need to cook long and slow. Otherwise you’re going to get chewy pork.

The good news is that the cooking time is almost entirely hands-off. After a minimal amount of prep to get the ribs ready to cook, your oven’s doing most of the work here.

You start by salting and peppering your ribs and placing in a single layer in a roasting pan or baking dish. If you use a baking tray, make sure it has a fairly high rim, as the meat will release a lot of liquid as it cooks.

Cover with foil and bake at 300°F for 2 hours. Go read a book and sip some lemonade in front of a fan.

When your timer goes off, carefully uncover the meatthe steam will be hotand drain the liquid from the tray. The meat looks super gross and sad at this point, but don’t worry. The next time it comes out of the oven, it will be beautiful.

Brush a generous coat of your favorite BBQ sauce over the meat.

Lower the temperature to 275°F and then bake uncovered for another hour. Your ribs are done when the meat has a beautifully baked-on coat of BBQ sauce and when you can pull it apart with a fork.

Brush with a little more sauce, give the ribs a couple minutes to rest, and then serve with some mashed potatoes or macaroni salad, and a simple veggie side like Garlic and Butter Green Beans or Oven-roasted Broccoli, and enjoy!

    How To Grill Ribs

Grilled Country Style Boneless Pork Ribs

At last, youre ready to throw those ribs on the grill. Believe it or not, this is actually the simplest part. Because your ribs are already fully cooked, tender, and flavorful, all youre really doing is a reverse sear to get some color and roasty-toasty flavor. This is also when you coat your ribs in a BBQ sauce, which will caramelize and become sticky on the grill.

You can use a gas or charcoal grill for this.

  • Preheat your grill. If your ribs are coated in sweet barbecue sauce, preheat the grill to medium. Otherwise, you can grill them over a hotter grill but you need to pay close attention to them so they wont burn.
  • Place your rack of rib, individual ribs or sections on a preheated grill over direct heat and brush on your BBQ sauce evenly in one layer. For individual ribs, it may be easier to toss them in barbecue sauce before placing on the grill.
  • Once you see an appealing brown color on them with some dark spots and the barbecue sauce thickens and gets sticky around the edges, they are ready and you can remove them from the grill. Thats all thats to it!
