We’re Open Omaha: Ref’s Sports Bar & Grill

Small for a sports bar.Lunch was very busy. Service was pretty good as was the food. My only complaint was it was cold inside.

Fast service, and both the server and bartender were friendly, helpful, and very kind to my special needs son. Thanks for making it a great day for us 🙂

Excellent bar & grill food. They had a double bacon cheeseby=urger that was awesome. Patty Melt was good also. Fries were hot, beer was cold. Fast and friendly wait staff. Plenty of outside seating and party rooms available.

Placed an order of nachos to go. The order was ready on time, but when getting home to enjoy, discovered there were black olives sprinkled throughout. I’d specifically requested these be left off. I immediately called back, and they offered to…replace. The server/bartender apologized for the inconvenience, and another order was brought out shortly after re-arriving. The nachos disappointed – clumps of cheese, room temp chips, and not nearly enough lettuce or tomato. Mostly of large bed of naked and some soggy chips. At $15 + a tip, way overpriced. Many of the other menu items look appealing, and as a newer place, the interior looked clean and inviting. However, especially with to-go orders, food quality is what’s most important.More

Legendary Omaha Restaurant Location Is Now A Literal Location For Legends

Those who had been missing Omahas legendary Venice Inn and its brother owners were in for a treat on April 25. Chuck and Jerry Caniglia served as guest bartenders to celebrate the grand opening of Legends Patio Grill and Bar at Aksarban, which also featured a special performance from Omahas favorite blues musician Hector Anchondo.

Legends is a locally-owned sports-themed grill and bar now open on the location that was once Venice Inn, Chuck and Jerrys family restaurant they sold in 2014. In honor of their guest appearance, Legends matched the tips collected and will be donating them to Heart Ministry Center, the charity the Caniglia brothers selected. Legends is also donating 10 percent of sales from that night to the charity.

Legends at Aksarben, located at 69th and Pacific, is owned by brothers Jamie and Nick Saldi who grew up in Omaha. They also attended the University of Nebraska Omaha, just down the street and were drawn to the area because of its proximity to the university and Baxter Arena. The brothers redeveloped the corner into a commercial complex called Aksarben Pointe. Legends at Aksarben is their third location. The first Legends Patio Grill and Bar is located in Cherry Hills Plaza off of I-680 and the Irvington exit.
