If you do not know your model or series of your Weber grill, you can always collect some information by either measuring the grill parts or by identifying certaincharacteristics of your grill.
Here are some things to look for in order to identify thetype of Weber grill you have:
1. Locate your Serial Number
There will be an information sticker on your Weber grill that will have your model and serial number

All Weber Grills have the serial number located on the owners manual. If you should not have your manual, follow these guidelines below. Also you can email us a picture of your grill and we can figure it out.

Your serial number will begin with 2 letters and 5 or 6 numbers following:
Spirit 2007-2017
- Before 2013 On the bottom panel
- After 2013 Also on the manifold.
Spirit II
- Inside face of the left side panel and on the manifold.
Genesis 1-5
- Inside of the tank panel or under the control panel.
Genesis 1000-5500, Spirit & Platinum
- Under of the control panel
Genesis Silver, Gold, Platinum
- Right side of control panel.

- Inside of tank panel.
- Located on the right side panel next to the drip tray.

Propane Gas Tank For Grill
A gas grill propane tank provides the gas for the gas grills. You can buy most propane tanks for grills at your local or chain hardware or grocery stores. Once you used up all of the gas and the tank is empty, you have two option you can either refill the tank yourself or exchange it for a full replacement tank at a local retailer.
This is not a real gas grill part, but it is a part you have to have if you want your grill to work. You cant start a fire without the fuel so make sure that you always have a spare propane gas tank for grill so you can grill your meal at any time.
It is hard to tell which type or even brand for this situation is the best. It actually depends on a lot of things so if you have one propane tank for the grill you are satisfied with, I strongly recommend you to stick to it and use only that one.
Gas Grill Ignitor
Today, most gas grills come with electric instastart ignitiors that turn the grill on within seconds. You dont have to use matches or lighters, you simply have to push the button on the gas grill ignitor. If you lose the ignitor, you have to find the gas grill ignitor replacement so you can start the grill in peace. Most gas grill ignitor parts are made universal so you can replace only the component that broke like spark generator, button ignitor etc.

Weber Q2000 Liquid Propane Grill
The Weber Q gas grill comes with only one stainless-steel burner but it produces 12,000 BTU which is pretty neat. You can prepare up to 15 hamburger on the grill because it has 280 sq. inches of cooking space. That is actually pretty big for a Weber tabletop gas grill.
This small Weber gas grill comes with the cooking grates made of porcelain-enameled cast-iron. The same story is with the body, it is made of the aluminum. Including the lid on the grill, the overall dimension of the model is 14.5H x 51.4W x 19.5D inches. The Weber compact gas grill is lightweight and portable which is great if you want to move it around.
You can easily control the entire cooking process on the Weber portable gas barbecue with a push-button for ignition and valve settings made for burners control. The lid comes with a thermometer so you can be sure what is the temperature inside the Weber round gas grill. The juice for the grill comes in disposable 14.1 or 16.4 oz. LP cylinders, but you have to buy them separately.
One of the most interesting features of this Weber propane grill is the fold-down side tables on both sides. That tables provide you with additional space so you can prepare what you need for the best meal ever. When you arent using it you can simply fold it back.

Understand The Quality Differences In The Parts
In general you will have three choices for replacement Flavorizer bars. Weber offers these bars in porcelain enameled steel or stainless steel. The ones made of porcelain enameled steel are cheaper, will easily last you three years and work just as well as ones made from stainless steel. If you do want longer lasting ones then go with the heavy duty option made by third party sellers. These are typically made of 18 gauge stainless steel and usually cost much less than the ones offered by Weber.
In general you will also have three choices for replacement grill grates. The grates made from porcelain steel are the cheapest and work okay. Your other two choices are grates made from stainless steel or cast iron. I love the thought, look and feel of cast iron but when it comes to grilling I really have to recommend the stainless steel. Stainless steel grates will give you better grill marks than cast iron grates any day of the week. In addition, stainless steel is easier to clean and will last longer than cast iron.
Are Your Parts Under Warranty
One last thing I recommend you do before buying parts is to READ your warranty. These grills come from Weber built to last and backed by a serious warranty that they fully support. The burner tubes carry a ten year warranty while other parts have coverage that varies between three to five years.

Genesis 2011-2016 had a major changein the burner orientation. They moved from horizontal to vertical. They hadused the horizontal orientation for decades. This moved the controls to thefront of the grill. This grill uses a 4-spark generator and Heat deflectors
Genesis II Grills have flat tube burners versus round tube burners. All of the Genesis II open cart grills are imported. The closed cart is Made in the US though many of the parts components are imported. These grills have either 2,3,4 or 6 Main Burners.

Grill Updating And Repair Is Easy
Buying grill parts to update and fix your grill can get it back to good working order quickly and easily. Things to note are when a gas grill is working properly the flame is evenly distributed through its burners, the flame itself is blue with yellow tips NOT orange. With all burners on high there should be even heat across the total cooking surface. Be sure the heat plates are properly installed above the burners to prevent flare ups that burn food quickly. The stainless steel flavor shields catch drippings from foods so they can be burned off by the heat of the grill.
SAFETY FIRST: Always make sure that you have TURNED OFF all gas flowing to your grill from a gas line or propane tank before doing any work on your grill. Is It Worth Buying Replacement Parts Or Should You Get A New Grill
While some problem items like rusted grates and burner tubes with uneven flames are easy to spot, other grill issues often escape notice unless you are looking for them. Before you make a major investment in replacement parts make sure you examine the frame of the grill. If the metal tubes that hold the grill onto the cart frame are about to rust through then start thinking about getting a new grill. Replacement cart assemblies are extremely hard to find and will easily cost you a few hundred bucks if you do manage to track one down.
You will also want to take a look at the slider rails that hold the grease box onto the grill. The screws that hold the slider rails onto the grill are notorious for rusting out and letting the grease box become detached.
In many cases the screws will completely corrode into the cast iron base of the grill and will have to be drilled out. If you are not up to this task then it is better to find out now than after you have bought parts.
