Their grill centers are straight islands So its just one large modular cabinet.
Most of the time, modular outdoor kitchens require some level of installation.
For Weber, assembly is on the heavier side.
It appears that the central piece comes mostly assembled. This is comprised of the grill with two cabinet doors underneath.
The remainder of the grill center requires full assembly on your part. So both the left and right side of the cabinet will need some elbow grease!

Weber Summit Grill Center Materials
Youll notice that the Summit grill center comes in two color options: black and stainless steel.
There are only slight differences in materials between the two So both will be discussed in this section.
Lets start with the doors. For the black model, these doors are black painted steel. The second Summit grill center option is stainless steel.
Other stainless steel components include the handle, trim, storage cabinet shelves, work surfaces, and the lid.
The grill center body is made from a solid steel welded frame And the end caps are made with painted cast aluminum.
What does this mean for you?
Generally speaking, we prefer to see concrete used for an outdoor kitchen material.
But if steel is going to be used We would like to see 304 grade stainless steel. This will provide the best rust and corrosion resistance over time. Lower grade stainless will severely impact longevity.
Unfortunately, we were unable to determine what grade of steel is used in these grill centers. So youll have to defer to Weber on that!
However We can confirm that the aluminum end caps will be susceptible to corrosion.
How does KitchenAid compare?
Remember that there are two island options from KitchenAid.
One has a stone veneer look The other has a polished steel finish.

There are a variety of complaints online about Nexgrill , but I’m a fairlyhandy guy, so figured I’d get the well spec’ed out grill for a decent price and be ableto fix any issues that came up. Plus Costco has an AWESOME return policy …although I wasn’t sure if they would actually accept a 200+ pound BBQ Grillgetting rolled back into their store … but per story below, they do! -)
The actual specs of the model 720-0856V is six 10,000 BTU burners in the 698 square inch main grilling area , a 13,000 BTUceramic rotisserie rear burner, and a 15,000 BTU ceramic searing side burner – that’s a lotta heat and you can grill a lotta hamburgers at once!It’s mostly stainless steel construction , althoughdisappointing that the cooking grids are “wrapped” versus solid stainless. I also wish the main firebox was thick gauge 304 stainless … but getting all that in this size of grill would cost you about $3,000. Overall, it was put together pretty well and assembly was easy.
Converting from Propane to natural gas was pretty straightforward as the directions in the KitchenAid 720-0856V manual provide a good step-by-step. The mainburners have “LP orifices” … so you just take those off. NG doesn’t burn as hot plus is under less pressure, so you needa larger opening – very clever design. You have to swap the orifices for the side and rear burner – the later is a littletrickier than as described in the manual – see below.
