The Best Traeger Grills To Make A Statement On The Patio
Despite the name, these units are capable of more than just grilling or smoking. With most of the best Traeger grills on our list today, for instance, youll also be able to sear, braise, bake, roast, and BBQ.
The origins of pellet grills can be traced back to the oil crisis of the 1970s. There was an upsurge in demand for affordable and sustainable home heating, and wood pellets gained currency for use in pellet stoves. By the late 1970s, compressed sawdust was sold as wood pellets.
Joe Traeger created the first Traeger pellet grill back in 1985, and this manufacturer remains an industry specialist today, decades later.
Although these early models looked superficially much like classic wood stoves, they operated differently. The first such grills were powered by electricity and harnessed an auger driven by a motor to send a designated amount of the pellets. These were loaded into a hopper and channeled into the fire pit. Here in the fire pit, fan-assisted combustion circulated warm air.
The Traeger pellet grill was patented in 1986. Early models used a three-position controller. This was known as an LMH controller for its low, medium, and high settings. Each of these three settings represented a specific temperature range. A fixed and predetermined duty cycle delivered the temperature.

Why youll love this:
Heres a smaller Pro Series. Its;as good as all of the other;Pro Series options, just a bit smaller. You get about 3 square inches less space than the one with the Echo Dot functionality, which isnt a bad trade given it costs about 2/3 what that one costs overall.
If you like this size, but dont need the wifi capability, this is an excellent deal. It comes with all the other great features that Traeger grills are known for; electronic temperature control capability that makes smoking easy and efficient.
The construction is good, and it has that nice sawhorse design that makes it much steadier than the straighter legged design several of these grills share.
The only real issue with this grill is that theres not much to write home about here. Its just well made and great for what it is, but so are all of these other grills.
- Great price for the size.

- Nothing particularly unique about it compared to other Traeger grills.
Are The Profit Margins Worth It
The aim of distributing products is to earn from them, and you can experience financial success if the profit margins are enough to maintain your efforts. Before deciding on the products to distribute, ensure to check on the profit margin before realizing that you are running on a loss too late. The profit margin should also not be too little that you feel as if your effort is not well compensated. Analyze how much effort you get to use and the profit you get from the products to know if they are the best fit.

Traeger History Brand & Reputation
The original Traeger grill was created by Jerry Whitfield and Joe Traeger after much experimentation with pellet wood stoves.
Joe Traeger developed the pellet grill in 1985 and patented it a year later in 1986. He was the first person to patent this design, and for the following twenty years, Traeger was the only pellet grill on the market and was run as a small family company based in Oregon.
The early models had a simple design. They used a basic LMH controller which only gave the user the option of low, medium and high heat levels. The auger was unable to account for outdoor temperature fluctuations or adjust heat output to the quantity of food that was being cooked.
Despite all the competition, Traeger is still widely considered to be the leading pellet grill company in the world, and they are hugely popular among serious grill enthusiasts and beginners alike. They have a solid reputation for manufacturing top-quality products that create authentic, great-tasting results, are easy to use, reliable and built to last.

Traeger Grills Tfb38tod Renegade Pro Pellet Grill And Smoke 380
Heres another recommendation from the Renegade series the Renegade Pro pellet grill.
Even with its top-notch features, Im surprised to know that many BBQ lovers never looked into the direction of this Traeger grill.
When it comes to construction, I can compare this grill with the Tex Elite 22 .
Traeger made this product using coated steel with a powder finish. That way, it can withstand harsh weather conditions or any rough handling. It is also equipped with wheels, which lets you transport your grill anywhere.
However, I noticed that the cooking space is narrow . But you can still smoke 3 racks of ribs, 2 chickens, and even 12 burgers at once.
Renegade Pro is sufficient enough for a small family of, lets say, 3-4 members. And if theres anything else Im sold for about this grill, its the portable 6-1 functions that allow you to smoke, roast, grill, bake, barbecue, or braise anything on the go.
Furthermore, the digital pro controller feature helps in the cooking process, coming at +/- 15 degrees F. Feel free to choose Low and slow, or hot and fast, along with other settings.
However, I noticed that this unit doesnt go well with extra accessories like drip trays or smoke racks.
I hope Traeger will fix this accordingly.

Best Traeger Pro Series Review
If you are not aware, Traeger is now producing their second generation of Pro Series grills. I have an article discussing the differences between the Gen 1 and Gen 2 Pro Series. The key differences between the first and second-generation Pro series are the Gen 2 uses the more advanced D2 Direct Drive system and also features PID temperature control along with WiFi integration, or as Traeger brands the feature WiFire. While you may find a few outlets still selling the Gen 1 Pro Series, the Gen 2 Pro Series is far superior that for the price difference.
The Gen 2 Pro Series currently comprises of two models the Pro 575 and Pro 780, both models have the same features, its just the 780 is larger than the 575 and as such costs around $200 more with the Pro 575 typically priced at $800 and the Pro 780 at just under $1,000. Currently I think the best review on the Gen 2 Pro Series is by Steve of Smoke Trails BBQ where he does a good job discussing the pros but also the cons of the Pro 575.
Steve of Smoke Trails BBQ reviewing his Traeger Pro Series 575
In Steves review, he is generally very positive about his Pro 575 discussing the ease of use and general user-friendly experience of the Traeger along with the WiFi app. Importantly, Steve discusses the size of the cooking area and how he finds the Pro 575 is suitable for cooking for between 2 to 6 people, but for more than 6 people thats where the larger Pro 780 may be a better choice.
Why Wood Pellet Grills Taste Better
Cooking with pure hardwood is a unique experience and is what gives Traeger grills their signature flavor. The possibilities are plentiful, you can choose from oak, mesquite, hickory, apple, cherry, maple, pecan etc. and many chefs choose different wood pellets depending on what theyre cooking. Cooking with awood pellet grill, therefore, means there are so many possibilities and flavors. No gas or charcoal grill can compare! So, consider oak with your beef, apple with your pork and pecan with your vegetables. Traeger even have a handy guide on their website as to some typical pairings but the possibilities are endless and you can try all sorts of combinations until you find your favorite.

Why youll love it:
This is the Big Kahuna of Traeger Grills. It combines everything that made any other grill on this list a good choice, save two:;Its not easily portable;, and it doesnt have the side grease drain.
What it does have is an even better;front shelf;around the grill, giving you plenty of space to rest your utensils, tools, trays, plates, and whatever else you need, without even the annoyance of it is a grate , and;even MORE storage space underneath, giving you a whole cabinet to work with.
Im a real sucker for this kind of thing because I NEVER have enough shelf or storage space anywhere I live, so being able to combine multiple things into one space makes me excited every time. In this case, storage space is storage space. While you can store your grill related stuff here, it also gives you extra space for, say, a toolbox or something to get it out from under your feet whenever you walk on your back porchbut I digress.
The smoker box remains and is slightly larger than the others. In fact, everything is a bit larger than others on this list. It boasts an enormous;589 square inches of grilling space; with an;18 lb hopper capacity. This is basically your nuclear option for grill space: if everybodys not fed with this bad boy you must be trying to feed an army or something.
And as you might expect, big size comes with a big price tag: It;will run you near to a thousand bucks;on average.

An auger at the bottom of the hopper moves the pellets to the hot rod, which ignites the pellets.
