How To Serve Grilled Pork Tenderloin

Quite honestly, this grilled pork tenderloin is so amazingly good, youll want to just pick up the slices and eat them like candy. They will be loaded with juices, and the outside with the brown sugar and seasonings will be nicely caramelized, creating a BBQ crust that is to die for. This is the caveman approach and is perfectly acceptable. You can, however, plate the slices and serve with your favorite side-dish. You can also add some of your favorite BBQ sauce if desired.

What Sauce To Serve With Grilled Pork Tenderloin

Our favorite pairing with this Grilled PorkTenderloin is tantalizing Cilantro Jalapeno Chimichurri. The smoky, buttery tender pork with the bright, tangy, sharp fresh herb sauce is a match made in heaven and takes minutes inyour food processor!

Ive gone with both cilantro and parsley in this chimichurri recipe, but you can swap the cilantro for parsley if cilantro is not your thing. Ive also used jalapenos in place of red pepper flakes, but you can use all red pepper flakes if you prefer. But please, make this vibrant chimichurri it elevates this Grilled Pork Tenderloin recipe beyond.

If chimichurri isnt your thing for whateverreason, you can also smother this grilled pork tenderloin in a number ofsauces. The rub makes an idealspringboard for barbecue sauce, honey mustard, balsamic glaze, etc.

How To Grill A Pork Loin

Once prepped and seasoned, this pork loin is a breeze to grill. All you have to do is follow these three steps and youre well on your way to enjoying a perfect pork loin roast.

  • Fire up the grill! Preheat your grill to 350 degrees F for two-zone cooking. Two-zone cooking will have one direct heat side of the grill and one indirect heat side of the grill.
  • Grill the pork loin. Place your trimmed and seasoned roast directly on the grill grates on the indirect heat side of the grill. Close the lid on the grill, and cook for approximately 1 to 1.5 hours. Remove the pork loin from the grill when it has reached an internal temperature of 145 degrees F. Make sure to insert your thermometer in the thickest part of the pork loin in the center of the meat to get an accurate reading.
  • Rest before serving. This pork loin will be hot once it comes off the grill. Allow the meat to rest for around 15 minutes before slicing and serving to your family or guests.

    Best Grilled Pork Tenderloin

A 4-pound pork loin takes me 1 hour and 45 minutes to grill with a grilling temperature around 325 degrees. However, this isn’t an exact science since the size of your pork loin and grill temperature fluctuations will cause your grill time to vary.

Grilling Hack: My secret weapon when grilling roasts is this double probe digital thermometer. Seriously the best thing ever. I stick one probe into the thickest part of the pork loin to monitor the internal temperature and rest the second probe on the grill grate next to the roast to monitor the grilling temperature.

The Difference Between Pork Tenderloin And Pork Loin

Pork tenderloin, a smaller cut that generally weighs about 1 pound, does not come from the same part of the animal as the larger pork loin. Since pork tenderloin is naturally lean and tender, it does well when cooked quickly at high temperatures. By contrast, pork loin lends itself well to slower roasting or grilling techniques. For more details about these two different cuts of meat, check out this article.

Today, were focused only on the pork tenderloin! This recipe calls for a single tenderloin however, you can easily scale the ingredients to cook more than one tenderloin at a time. This is also a great pork loin marinade however, the cooking directions for that cut of meat are different.

    Grilled Pork Tenderloin Rub

I love using wet rubs to season chicken and grilled meats because they deliver huge flavor without marinating AND because expert grillers advise that it is best to add oil to the surface of your meat and not just the grill as most of the oil burns off the grill by the time you add your meat.

This wet rub is rich, earthy, and complex with just the right amount of kick while the lime juice adds asplash of freshness. Its chili flavorlends itself beautifully to both the smoky grill and bright chimichurri.

How To Keep Grilled Pork Tenderloin Juicy

Pork tenderloin is a very lean cut of meat. If fact, its considered to be just as lean as a chicken breast. Its lack of fat makes it a smart choice for meat lovers looking to be more health-conscious. However, its lean nature also raises concerns about dryness. This is how to keep pork tenderloin nice and moist:

    Use a Marinade

A marinade is a great way to add flavor and moisture to lean cuts of meat like pork tenderloin. Marinades work by breaking down the muscle fibers and connective tissue in meat which tenderizes is and also allows it to better retain moisture. For pork tenderloin, mix up your favorite and pour it over the meat and then let it hang out, covered, in the fridge for at least 4 hours or up to 24 hours.

Let the Tenderloin Rest Before Slicing

This trick isnt just for pork tenderloin. Resting the meat is a practice you should follow for just about any cut. As meat cooks, its juices are pushed out towards the surface of the meat, and some even seep out. When you remove the meat from the grill or oven, you want to give those juices a moment to sink back into the meat and redistribute. If you cut into the meat right away, theyll leak out and youll be left with a tough, dry tragedy on your plate.

For the juiciest meat youll ever cut into, let the pork rest on a platter covered with foil for at least 10 minutes.

    What Is Porktenderloin

Not to be confused with pork loin, pork tenderloin comes from the muscle that runs along the backbone of the animal. A lean cut of meat, tenderloin is long, narrow, and, as the name suggests, tender to the taste. Typically served as a roast, pork tenderloin is also great on the grill.

However, you should be warned. The minute you turn on the flame, youre likely to have hungry people hovering over your shoulder. Luckily, scrumptious appetizers like watermelon salad and mango black bean salsa dip are easily prepared ahead of time to keep them at bay.

    How To Grill Pork Loin

If there is any silver skin on the pork loin, this can be trimmed off with a sharp knife prior to cooking. Next, pat the meat dry with a paper towel and rub the loin with oil. The oil helps the seasoning stick when you dust it liberally with your seasoning mixture.

The best way to grill pork loin is to use indirect cooking. The basic premise of indirect cooking is to have your heat source on the opposite side of the grill from where you place your meat. This creates a more gentle heat around the pork loin, allowing it to more slowly come to temperature. If you set the pork loin directly over the heat source, the exterior would be dry, blackened, and burnt by the time the interior was safe to eat.
