Weber Grill Vs Napoleon Grill

Are Napoleon Grills Better Than Weber

Napoleon Prestige VS Weber Genesis (Which Gas Grill Would you Choose?!?)

You want to get the best value for your money when buying a grill and the easiest way to do this is by getting a Weber or Napoleon.

You know the two best names but how do you choose between them? Both have great features and merits and they are presented here to help you decide which is the best fit for you.

Napoleon is a newer name of the two in the grilling world but is well-known for its high-quality grills. Depending on the size of grill, Napoleon may be more affordable than Weber but despite a lower price tag, they are durable and well-built.

Napoleon relies on an efficient infrared grilling system for its products making them reliable and versatile.

Weber offers you a range of grills from affordable charcoal kettle grills to more luxury gas grills. As one of the oldest grill manufacturers, Weber is a name you can count on.

They too are designed to last a lifetime and are more readily available. Some of their models are pricier than the comparable versions from Napoleon.

To make a decision between these two great brands, you need as much information as possible. Comparing the key features of each brand is the best place to start. Depending on what features matter most to you in a grill, you can make a decision from there.

Where Are They Manufactured

Weber is headquartered in Chicago and most of their grills are built/assembled at their manufacturing plant in Huntley, Illinois. However, most of their grills use parts that are sourced from other countries and some models are actually assembled in China or Taiwan. While there have been some quality issues in the past, Weber seems to have sorted them out and made sure the positive opinion and name recognition it enjoys remains unaffected.

Napoleon grills are mostly manufactured in their facility in Canada, although some models might be put together in China. Known for creating high-end grills, the brand has recently also started targeting the budget market with a high degree of success with its Rogue line of grills.

Prep Space

When comparing this product to its nearest Napoleon competitor, one thing is clear: Weber has remembered to provide prep space. The Q2200 series grill has side tables that fold out so that you can have a prep surface to work with. The fact that these fold-out makes the product relatively compact and portable, and I think this was a great addition for those grillers that want to take their show on the road.

Quality Surfaces

As Ive mentioned a couple of times, porcelain is a great tool for even cooking, and Weber opted to utilize this type of enamel on their cooking grates. This means that youll almost always have a very even cook without any raw or undercooked spots. Also, I like the pattern on the grates its easy to get that lined look that most appreciate on their grilled food. Theres also a convenient catch pan that will help you keep your grilling area nice and clean.

Easy Temperature Management

One of the problems with the TQ285 is that it can be hard to see the thermometer when the lid is up because its at the top. The thermometer on the Q2200, on the other hand, is much more forward-facing, so you should be able to see the temperature of your food, even when youre cooking with the grill open.

Weber Vergleich Untergestell Und Gasflaschenaufbewahrung

How We Tested Gas Grills

Weber Spirit II VS Napoleon Freestyle (Which Entry Level Gas Grill is Best?!?!)

In spring 2017, we kicked off this grill guide by putting six gas grills through a battery of tests. We cooked a full grate of burgers on high heat and chicken pieces at a low temperature. We also roasted whole chickens indirectly on both low and high heat to see whether the grills could create browned skin and perfectly cooked meat without charring. In 2018 we repeated these tests, with the then-new Weber Spirit II E-310 and our upgrade pick at the time, the Weber Genesis II E-310 .

For the high-heat, whole-grate burger testan indicator of the grills ability to pump out uniform, high heat without creating an infernowe heated the grills on high with their lids down for 15 minutes, and we distributed 12 to 15 6-ounce patties across the whole cooking surface. While the burgers cooked, we kept an eye out for flare-upswhich can char the meat and create acrid smokeand looked at the evenness of cooking across the grates. After about 10 minutes of cooking, we compared how well each grill had seared the burgers, and we looked for excessive charring or patties that were still unacceptably raw.

Is Weber Better Than Napoleon

Weber and Napoleon are two of the most popular grill brands on the market. Both have their diehard fans, but which one comes out on top? In this blog post, well take a look at the pros and cons of both brands to help you decide.

Weber grills are known for their quality and durability, while Napoleon grills offer more features and flexibility.

Weber 7470001 Summit S

Though the previous model is huge, some users may need even more space. Thats when Weber Summit S-670 enters the stage.

With this grill, you can cook 24 burgers at once and feed over 15 people. Increased dimensions require more heat, so the unit offers more burner tubes and as many as 6 burners.

Engineers widened the sear burner. Other options between Summit S-470 and Summit S-670 stayed the same. As usual for this line, you can additionally enjoy a smoker burner, a rotisserie burner, and a side burner.

Two lid handle lights are the final improvement here.

Everything from a design point of view makes sense in the Summit S-670.

Externally, the grill becomes bigger and heavier, but we can still enjoy easy transportation thanks to the wheels. All storage surfaces we love so much stay with us, too welcome the closed cart with two side tables and six hooks.

Design & Build Quality

Webers propane tank storage is outside its closet while Napoleon and Broil King designed the pedestal to store the propane

From left: Weber Genesis II S-335, Napoleon Prestige 500, and Broil King Regal S490 Pro

From the outside, Napoleons and Broil Kings gas grills look more modern and stylish than Webers. However, looking inside their firebox, Weber wont disappoint. Both the Weber Genesis and Napoleon Prestige have a solid aluminum tub that will last for years as their seamless design can help keep grease and drips at bay. This will help prevent rust and corrosion, unlike the firebox of the Broil King Regal that is not built with solid aluminum like the rest.

Among the three, only Weber designed its propane tank to be placed outside of its storage closet. Whether this is good or bad depends on your preference. In some countries, the smallest propane tanks cant fit inside the storage closet, thus Webers design fits their needs better. This also allows for more storage space, which others might appreciate. However, for those who prefer their propane tank to be stored inside, Napoleons and Broil Kings design will be better. Its worth noting that the Broil King Regal has a sliding propane tank base so you wont struggle as much when putting the tank inside.

Budget Pick: Weber Spirit Ii E

Napoleon Prestige 500 Vs Weber Genesis II

*At the time of publishing, the price was $459.

If you have limited outdoor space or dont want to commit to a larger grill, the Weber Spirit II E-210 is a smaller, two-burner version of our pick, and its a great choice. The Spirit II E-210s smaller grate might make grilling for a crowd a challenging endeavor. However, this grill can still accommodate a whole cut-up chicken or six to eight burger patties at a time. And it performs on a par with the three-burner version, the Spirit II E-310. Like our top pick, the two-burner Spirit comes with a cast-aluminum firebox, an enameled steel lid and open cart, two side tables, and a 10-year warranty.

The upper warming rack adds 90 square inches of cooking surface to the E-210, making the total grate area 450 square inches. Overall, the two-burner Spirit II is the same depth and height as the three-burner model, but the E-210 is 4 inches smaller width-wise. That may not seem like much, but if youre working with a small patio area, every inch counts. Like the E-310, the E-210 has an open-cart design and an easy-access side-mounted hook and gauge for the propane tank.

Even though we didnt officially test the Spirit II E-210, we did test its predecessor, the Weber Spirit E-210 . And one of our guide writers, Lesley, owned the Spirit II E-210 for years before passing it off to a friend . She recounts that the Spirit II E-210 held consistent temperature across the cooking grate, and flare-ups were never an issue.

Welchen Gasgrill Kaufen Weber Und Napoleon Im Test

Mid Size Product Two: Weber Spirit Ii E

The first thing I notice about this grill is its open storage design, which some grillers prefer. It has three burners and a good level of output. Heres how it stacks up:

Pros

  • It has 529 inches of cooking space.
  • Both the grate and flavorizer bars are porcelain-enameled.
  • It has a 10-year guarantee from Weber.

Cons

  • Its tough to put together.
  • It could get hotter.

Napoleon Prestige 500 Vs Weber Genesis Epx

Napoleon Prestige 500 Review: The Prestige 500 Is an excellent mid-range proposition, combining exemplary quality and features with a competitive price. This stainless-steel grill has four burners for a total of 48,000 BTUs of heat generation. However, there is also a 14,00 BTU infrared side burned and an 18,000 BTU infrared rear burner, giving you incredible flexibility when it comes to cooking different dishes at the same time. The side burner, dubbed the Sizzle Zone, can reach a temperature of 800F in a matter of seconds. A combined cooking area of 760 square inches further adds to the appeal.

Inside, you will find dual-level sear plates that work incredibly well, the accurate Accu-Probe temperature gauge, a rotisserie burning system for whole birds and roasts, and exceptional durability with locking castors for stability. A unique backlight system makes it easy to locate and use the burner knobs in low-light conditions. The folding side shelves and utensil hooks make for convenient operation and the closed cart design keeps your storage area protected.

The well-designed drip zone and the wave-shaped porcelain-enameled grates, coupled with a solid lid design, can help with heat retention and transmission and as a result, the grill gets up to temperature very quickly.

Prestige 665/ 665 Rsib

The Prestige 665 and 665 RSIB both feature five 12,000 BTU Main Burners. There is not a Weber Genesis Model that features 5 Burners so we do not have a comparable model. This grill is in between two Weber models. It is priced under the Summit S-470 yet much higher than the Genesis S-435. The quality is more in line with the Summit than the Genesis II.
