Peak Grilling Season March Through June
We all want to cook burgers and hot dogs outside during the summer, but the chances of finding good deals and sales are slimmer during the peak grilling season. Buying a grill during the Summer is not terrible you might not find the best deals.
You will likely find a wider variety of grills during the spring or early summer as stores start to stack up on grills. Spring is a good time if you are in the market and comparing brands features and gadgets.
However, sales do come up from time to time during grilling season and can help consumers buy a new grill at a good price. Early summer brings a lot of attention to new shiny grills, dont wait too long.
How Much Should A Good Grill Cost
You can get a gas grill for under $100 USD or you can spend $10,000. Charcoal grills can be had for as little as $20 or over $2,000. There are many reasons for the difference in prices, but one of the most important is durability. The least expensive grills are simply not built to last.
Sorry The Best Time To Buy Is Not Now
While its true that you will see discounts on all kinds of grills on Memorial Day weekend, we saw lower prices just a month ago. For example, while Home Depot is touting this Dyna-Glo 5-burner grill at a new lower price of $179, just a few weeks ago we saw it at $149 during their spring sale. In general, while prices on grills will drop this holiday weekend, they are still going to be about 10 to 20 percent higher than the lowest prices we see in August, September, and even some sales in early spring.

Usually, stores that specialize in BBQs and grills will offer the best prices and discounts ahead of and during holiday shopping events. BBQGuys is one of the better places to shop if you’re hoping to find a good deal on a barbecue throughout the year. Along with holiday shopping events, they also feature a Sales & Offers section that frequently gets updated with new deals.
If a deal worthy of your money can’t be found there, home renovation stores like Home Depot and Lowe’s will be the next best place to look. While their selection of brands isn’t huge, they do usually have a solid offering of BBQ and grill deals worth a look especially during summer sales and Black Friday sales.
Amazon of course will have options to choose from, but with Amazon you may not find the best quality for the value. Check The Newspaper And Weekly Ads
When buying a grill from a local store, it pays to check the newspaper ads for store specials. Many times you can view your local store’s weekly ads online. If your local store is sold out of the advertised sale products, check into buying online and receiving free “ship to store” services. If you do get a grill shipped for free to the store, see if they will also assemble your new grill for free.
There is no reason to buy a grill at the full retail price. Waiting and watching for the prices to drop on the grill of your choice will pay off with significant savings.

Factors To Consider When Buying A Weber Grill
- Try Not To Hold Back On Quality
Essentially, you need it to be made well. If you purchase something modest, you may need to supplant it in two years. So the thickness of the material is significant. A portion of the less expensive grill has exceptionally slight metal and over a time of employments, it begins to consume that metal. In the end, youll consume a gap or two in it and should supplant it.
- Comprehend That Size Issues
Contemplate how much nourishment you commonly grill and how a lot of room it takes up. At that point, go somewhat greater and make that the base size flame broil you get.
- Gas Or Charcoal
Do you incline toward a programmed or a manual vehicle? Gas resembles a programmed. Charcoal resembles a stick move. On the off chance that you like the accommodation and speed of computerization, go for a gas grill. If you incline toward the rush of being legitimately associated with getting things going, go for charcoal.
- Research The Best Brands
As far as quality for a regular patio grill, its difficult to beat Weber. They have remarkable client assistance and guarantee arrangements. Their product offerings contain everything from a straightforward Pot grill as far as possible up to enormous open-air kitchens.

Do Gas Grills Ever Go On Sale
Expect lots of grill deals in May and June, and discounts of up to 60% off in June and July. As for grill sales, we tend to see them scattered throughout the year. Look for modest discounts, like $50 off select grills at Home Depot in March, and up to 30% off select brands on Amazon in May.
When Is The Worst Time To Buy A Grill
We have discussed in this article the best time to buy a grill but lets talk about the worst time. Unmistakably, the worst time to buy a grill is around March through June, as stores know this is the peak of grilling season, and prices will likely stay high. Yes, we all want to run to the store during the summer and buy a new grill, but so does everyone else.
The demand for grills is higher during these months and as expected the prices. Prices on grills during the summer dont fluctuate much and are less likely to find the best prices.

When Do Smokers Go On Sale
Smokers can come in gas, charcoal, pellet, and even electric varieties. It’s best to keep an eye out in May and July for the best smoker deals. While October and November could have a few, they likely won’t feature as many as the summer months.
Last summer, we saw gas smokers for as little as $50, electric models for $70, and charcoal iterations for $88. In the fall, a Cuisinart propane smoker dropped to $119 and earned our Staff Pick designation. And a Masterbuilt electric smoker fell to $126 during that season, too.

Clearance Deals Not Special Sales
If you are waiting for a Winter deal like 30% Off Weber Grills then you are going to be waiting a long time because events like that simply do not happen.
Weber maintains a Minimum Advertised Pricing with its distributors that prevents them from under cutting each other with local discounted sales prices. Simply put, local Weber dealers are not allowed to drop the price so they cannot run sales special.
Any sales or discounts on Weber grills have to be originated at the Company level and in all of the years that I have been following the company I have never seen that happen.
The exception to Webers rules that creates some bargain shopping opportunities is when certain grills become discontinued and are no longer being manufactured and distributed. In these cases retailers can place deep discounts on the discontinued models to clear them out of inventory so they can make room for the new models.
As an example, the Weber Genesis II E 610 was discontinued for 2019. Some Home Depot stores still have a supply of the E 610 in stock and have placed them on deep discount to make room for new models like the Genesis II S 435.
I spotted this Genesis II E 610 selling at my local Home Depot for $599 which is a 40% discount off of its list price.

Other Types Of Grills
Less common grill types include electric and wood pellet grills. Unlike other kinds of grills, electric grills do not use fire or fuel to generate heat. Like the name suggests, electric grills are heated using electricity. Most other grills are designed to be used exclusively outdoors, but some electric grills are meant for indoor use.
Wood pellet grills also stay true to their name, using wood pellets as a fuel source rather than charcoal or propane. Grills designed for wood pellets are similarly priced to charcoal grills, although they can be a bit pricier depending on the model. Also like charcoal grills, cooking with wood pellets imparts unique flavors into your meals and you can use different kinds of wood to produce different flavors.
But If You Need A Grill Now Dont Despair
We get it. Waiting for the absolute lowest prices is all well and good, but it doesnt always make sense. After all, how are you going to throw all those entertaining summer barbecues if you wait until September to buy a grill? Luckily, this years Memorial Day grill prices might be low enough to justify buying for the season, even if theyre not going to be the best of the year.
Perhaps because Sears has not been doing very well lately, they are offering some very strong deals on grills right now, and you can even take an additional 10 percent off select grills with the promo code 10SEARS. For example, right now you can get this Kenmore four-burner grill for a final price of $252 after you use the code, which is just $12 less than the lowest price weve ever seen.
Also, if you just wait a few weeks, youll likely see more discounts on other brands and at other retailers in June and July. As the season moves on and demand drops, retailers will start offering lower and lower prices so that they arent stuck with excess inventory at the end of the summer.
Another way to save if you need to buy right now is to avoid any shipping fees by shopping at stores that offer free in-store pickup. Because grills are large, unless they offer free shipping, delivery fees will likely be very high, sometimes as much as $70. Thats unnecessary if you can just go pickup a grill at the store.

Is July 4th A Good Time To Buy A Grill
Thanks to July Fourth deals, this holiday weekend may be a great time to find one on sale. There tend to be more deals and discounts on grills for the holiday weekend that kicks off backyard barbecue season. Its worth noting that, similar to large appliances, we have seen bigger discounts and more deals in years past.
Best Time To Buy A Grill: Features Availability And Pricing
Finding the best time to buy a grill really depends on how important it is to get certain features, a certain brand, and overall what kind of a grill you want.
If you want the best grill money can buy, the release of new models will likely be in the late spring and early summer.
However, this is also when prices will be at their highest. So, if you want the best deal, the best time of year to buy a grill is from September and afterwards.
The longer you wait, the bigger the discounts will be, but What if they sell out of the grill youve had your eye on all this time?
Waiting for bigger discounts does come with a risk that all the grills you liked have been sold out, and youll have to pick from whats left.
You can ask how many the store has left in stock, but theres still no guarantee of how long theyll be in stock.
Consider whats more important, price and getting the best deal or getting a grill with all the bells and whistles. When you buy it at the right time, you might be able to have both.
