But even experts can use a few tips now and then. So here are some of mine :
- Let the Tenders Soak in the Marinade: Give the chicken time to soak in the flavors. Two hours is great, and overnight is even better. That said, dont let it soak much longer than overnight because the acid from the pickle juice could alter the texture of the meat.
- Dont Overcrowd the Grates: You want to give the chicken room to cook through, and cook evenly. Placing the tenders too close to one another can interfere with that.
- Preheat the Grill: If the grill isnt fully hot when you put the chicken on, youll have to cook it for longer. Also, a fully-heated grill will give you great char marks on the tenders.
- If Its Cold Out: Sometimes I get the chicken tender cravings in the middle of winter! While I cant fire up the grill, I can put some olive oil in a skillet and cook the tenders on the stovetop that way. Its not quite the same as grilling them, but it still yields really delicious results.
How Long To Marinate The Meat
- At least 30 minutes.
- If you have 2-4 hours time to let it marinate is great, but its not mandatory, the strips will still be delicious.
- I feel that if I leave them to marinate for more than 4 hours, the lemon flavor will be too strong. But that is just a matter of personal taste, I suppose.
- Also, consider that the acid in the lemon juice might affect the texture of the meat if you leave the meat in the marinade for too long. The outside layer of the meat will turn whitish, it will look like it had been slightly boiled or cooked already. So, dont over-marinate the tenderloins.
- Usually, I let them marinate for about 2-3 hours, and turn them in the marinade halfway through.

4. Uncover the pot and gently fluff the rice with a fork. Add a bit of butter, if desired. Season the rice with salt and pepper to taste.
