Attach The Natural Gas To The Natural Gas Griddle
While Blackstone recommends that you recruit a professional to connect your natural gas supply to your griddle, but its also possible to do it yourself.
First, grab your adjustable wrench to remove the propane hose from the body of the natural gas griddle. Its recommended to keep the hose if you wish to convert the natural gas outdoor griddle back to propane in the future.
Then, attach the natural gas hose found in the Blackstone Natural Gas Conversion Kit to the griddle using the adjustable wrench. The kit also includes a quick disconnect tool, which must be screwed to your houses natural gas valve using thread sealant.
Connect the other end of the hose to the natural gas griddle. To complete this task, ensure that the fitting area is debris-free. Then, push the quick-connect fitting into the locking collar. Please give it a good yank to make sure the two pieces are firmly secured.
Finally, turn on the natural gas and use soapy water to check for any dangerous gas leaks. No leaks? Youve successfully converted your Blackstone griddle to natural gas.
Propane Tank Size For The Blackstone 28 And 36
The 28-inch and 36-inch griddles are not used for portable cooking applications outside the home. They are therefore better attached to larger propane tanks instead of the smaller tanks.
It is not sensible to connect the 36 inches or 28 inch griddle to a 1 pound propane tank because they will both consume it in less than 1 hour.
With a 5 pounds griddle, you also do not cook for long. It takes the 36 inches and 28 inch Blackstone griddle only 3 hours and 2 hours respectively to consume this tank.
It is therefore also not sensible to connect this propane tank to your Blackstone 36 or the Blackstone 28 inches griddles unless you want it for cooking only one meal.
The problem also comes with refilling propane tanks. You do not want to keep moving to and fro to refill tanks. Hence the most reasonable size of the tank is the 20 pounds that take 12 and 7 hours for the Blackstone 28 and 36 griddles respectively.

Blackstone Two Burner Propane Giddle Review
Blackstone 28-Inch Propane Griddle Commercial Grade
The Blackstone 28 griddle gas grill cooking station comes with only 2 stainless steel burners with 15,000 BTU each so it has 30,000 BTUs in total. That is more than enough to heat up 470 sq. in. of cooking space and provide you the best meal you can prepare.
The Blackstone 28-inch outdoor cooking gas grill griddle station you can cook every meal quick and simple so you dont have to be an expert about it. You can even cook different meals on the griddle because the heat distribution is separated between two burners. That is possible thanks to the H burners under the griddle.
You dont have to bother with complex ignition process because this portable gas grill has electric ignition, which means that the only thing you have to do to start is push a button. Yes, it is portable, but not as the models above because it has only 2 wheels insted of 4. That means you have to pick the legs up and push the gas grill, but I dont see any special downside to that process, especially due to the fact that two legs are foldable.

Tip #4 Do Not Force The Orifice
Blackstone calls this out in the video above but it is worth repeating to not over tighten the new orifices when installing.
There are several reviews on the Blackstone website from people who over tightened the orifices and snapped them off. The orifices are made of brass and will break easier than you think.
Also pay careful attention to the fit and feel of the orifice. There are several different sizes of orifice and they have different threading. If you are trying to screw it in and it just doesnt feel right then do not force it to fit. Go back and look at the orifice you took out and see if it matches the treads on the one you are trying to install.

Although Weber does not permit gas conversions any longer the policy does not make the process any less simple than it has always been.
American Made Weber Models manufactured before 2007 have the ability to stay in use for multiple decades with minimal replacements.
We rescued this old Weber barbecue grill. A client purchased a new Weber barbecue and asked us to dispose of this old model.
Our work ethics are very strict so please note we tried vehemently to dissuade the client from buying a new model instead of repairing this old model. A 20 year old Weber is worth 10 of the new barbecues being sold with the Weber name on them today.
Neither here not there.
We go get requests for assistance with Weber barbecue grill gas conversions. We get these requests because we know gas barbecue repair technology very well with many, many years of experience and because Weber made all their dealers sign a legal contract agreeing not to convert fuel type in any Weber models.
Which is nuts! Even as a Weber warranty service provider we and they are not permitted to perform a process as ridiculously simple as converting to natural gas or converting to propane.
NG or LP connection feeds gas to the manifold but the amount fed into the burner is determined by the size of the hole in the orifice.
Slide off the burner to access the gas orifice.
