Traeger Timberline 1300 Assessment Bbq Chicken Breast On Wood Pellet Grill

Traeger was a true innovator in bringing wood pellet grills to the masses. They have a considerable catalog to fit the barbecuing and smoking requirements of practically any size crowd. Dealing with a family that requires to feed a huge team of individuals or someone that just loves to host large picnics is the Traeger Timberline 1300.

As the name implies the primary cooking chamber supplies an astonishing 1,300 square inches of grilling capacity split over three tiers. This is more than good enough to satisfy the starving mouths of an area block event or to make your residence the place to be for the next huge family get-together.

Yet its not as well big for a family of four to delight in a wonderful dinner of smoky barbequed steaks or the periodic barbecue chicken.

The receptacle is also remarkably significant to match the primary grilling chamber. When loaded to maximum ability it can stand up to 24-pounds of wood pellets at a time. This is more than sufficient to sustain an all-day smoking session.

Add The Lemon Pepper Seasoning

This seasoning is very basic but very good. Now you could zest a lemon yourself but I prefer to buy this spice, California lemon peel.

All you need to do is add the lemon zest, freshly cracked pepper, and salt together and mix them really well.

Sprinkle the seasoning over the meat evenly. You want the seasoning to be on all sides of the chicken. Dont be afraid to be liberal with the seasoning because you will lose some during the grilling process.

Mix Up A Marinade Dry Rub Or Brine

Pin on Recipes

Unless glazing with a barbecue sauce, always season your chicken, whether it’s boneless breasts or the whole bird. Wet marinades, dry rubs and brines all add flavor and moisture to chicken breasts and can also act as a tenderizer. Here’s what to know about each type:

A wet marinade is any type of highly seasoned liquid, such as herb or spice pastes, wines, spiced oils, vinaigrettes, yogurt/buttermilk, Cuban mojo, etc. If a marinade includes something very acidic, like vinegar, wine or citrus, keep the marinating time relatively quick 30 minutes to three hours, depending upon the thickness of the chicken breast and cut it with a little olive oil. Yogurt and buttermilk, which are both rich in lactic acid, are much less acidic and can stand a longer marinating time two to six hours, depending upon the chicken’s thickness. Non-acidic marinades, like herbs and spices mixed with oils, can sit for two to 10 hours.

Can I Substitute Table Salt In The Brine

We don’t recommend using table salt in this brine. There’s a big difference between the size of kosher salt flakes and table salt grains. Using table salt will add much more salt to this brine recipe, and the chicken will come out too salty.

If table salt is all you have, use 1 1/2 tablespoons of table salt in this recipe. You can also use 1 1/2 tablespoons of fine sea salt.

For the juiciest, most flavorful grilled chicken, use bone-in, skin-on pieces. Place the chicken on a paper towel-lined tray and pat it dry. This removes excess moisture, which prevents the skin from getting crispy. Remember to wash your hands and all equipment after handling raw chicken.

Next, season both sides generously with kosher salt and freshly ground pepper and allow the chicken to come to room temperature for 15 minutes. This helps it cook evenly and gives the salt and pepper a chance to work their magic. Keep in mind that sweet sauces like glazes and barbecue sauce shouldn’t be applied until the chicken is finished cooking. They will burn before the chicken is fully cooked.
