How to…Make Perfect Chicken Tenders

Grilling chicken can be a little tricky, but with the right tips, it can be a breeze. When grilling boneless chicken breasts, start by heating your grill to medium-high heat.

Place the chicken skin-side down on the grill and let it cook for about 4-5 minutes until it gets nice and crispy.

Then, flip it over and let it cook for another 4-5 minutes until it reaches an internaltemperature of 165°F. Times will vary depending on the size of the pieces.

How To Make The Best Chicken Marinade:

Combine all marinade ingredients and whisk together well.

Put chicken tenders into a lidded container and pour marinade over top of chicken.

Snap the the lid on. And pop it into the fridge for at least 4 hours or overnight.

When chicken is ready, soak your wooden skewers in water for at least a half an hour . Obviously you can skip this step if using metal skewers.

Cook for about 5-6 minutes per side . Its really important that you flip the chicken using tongs and you handle it by the meat portion of the skewer. Dont try flipping using the skewer itself. Metal ones will be too hot to handle at this point and the wooden ones might break. Allow to cool for a couple of minutes before serving.Grilling Pro Tip: To keep food from sticking to your grill, you need to make sure you scrub off any baked-on food that might still be on your grill grates or your chicken is just going to stick to that blackened char. Dont have a grill brush? Just preheat your gas grill to high for a few minutes and close the lid. Open it up, turn down the heat, and scrub grates with a wad of aluminum foil. Works for me every time!

Prepare The Chicken Tenders

A lot of the time your chicken tenders have a tenon that sticks out of the chicken tender.

Its okay to go ahead and cook this tenon but if its too much I like to remove what is hanging off the tender by trimming it with a knife.

If its too hard to grab with a knife you can use a paper towel and this helps sometimes with grabbing it.

Now that youve got the chicken tenderloins trimmed up and ready to go, put them into a bowl so we can season them.

How To Grill Chicken:

1. Preheat the grill on high for 10-15 minutes, then use your grill brush to scrape any previous remnants off your grates.

2. the fully thawed chicken breasts. A clean and easy way to marinate the chicken is to place it in a large plastic zip top bag, add your marinade and make sure your entire chicken breast is covered. In this particular instance, I used olive oil and added a few fresh basil leaves.

Chicken breasts are only needed 2 3 times longer than chicken thighs, so if this is your first time trying this method, you might want to experiment with thinner chicken pieces. What Kind Of Seasoned Salt To Use

Weve tried many commercially prepared seasoned salts over the years, you could use whichever brand you happen to have on hand and this recipe will work just fine.

Grill Chicken Tenders On The Stove

Use a heavy bottom non-stick pan or a seasoned cast iron skillet to grill chicken tenders on the stove. Dont add oil to the pan. The oil coating the chicken tenders is sufficient.

Prepare the chicken tenders as described above and lay them flat in the hot pan. Avoid moving them around in the pan. Keeping them in one spot will help them sear and brown beautifully.

After 3 to 5 minutes, when you see the sides of the chicken tenders turning white, flip them and grill for another 3 to 5 minutes on the other side.

Remove them from the pan and let the grilled chicken tenders rest for a few minutes before you serve them.

  • Preheat air fryer to 375 degrees F / 190 degrees C.
  • Combine all of the marinade ingredients in a large bowl or bag. Add in the chicken tenders, and toss to coat well. Let marinate for at least 30 minutes or up to 4 hours.

    This is a recipe Ive used for over 10 years now. Chicken tenders are awesome because they cook so quickly, especially on a grill. Its one of the easiest dinners I have up my sleeve. Technically you dont even have to marinate the chicken if you are in a rush. Its pretty darn tasty if you end up tossing it on the grill immediately too. If you dont have an outdoor grill, no worries on that either! Just use an indoor grill pan. You can buy the grill pan I use HERE. It comes in so handy and I use it a lot.

    While you can always use a , my go-to method of seasoning grilled chicken is with a generous sprinkling of spices.

    Cajun Seasoning and Taco Seasoning are the two spice blends I reach for most often. However a combination of Crazy Salt and Italian Seasoning is also delicious.

    Dont have a spice blend ready to use? Just sprinkle each piece of chicken with salt, pepper, garlic, and paprika for an easy and very tasty option.

    Im not including spice amounts here, because its subject to a number of factors size of the chicken pieces, amount of meat youre cooking, how spicy you like to make things etc.

    You just want to sprinkle the spices generously enough to cover each piece without coating it completely and causing it to become salty.

    Once youve made this a few times, you wont even need to think about it.
