Why Are Built In Grills So Expensive
Even the ones made with cast iron are not cheap. Burners are entirely made of the highest quality of steel that the manufacturers see fit to be used as a primary heat channel which will make the grill do its job. This too greatly contributes to the heavier price of built-in gas grills.

Why Are Weber Grills So Expensive 7 Main Reasons
Sixteen years later, it’s hard to find a 2003 Evo, as most people who bought them modified them, drove them hard and generally ruined them. But of the dozen or so 2003-2005 Evolution models currently listed for sale on Autotrader, every single one is over $16,000. That means this car has retained more than half of its value in 16 years The Evo isn’t perfect. It won’t impart that smoky backdrop to foods cooked with real wood charcoal . The huge lid can be cumbersome, and it could use a loop on its rim for hanging. And it’s expensive. At $2,600 for the 30-inch standalone model, the Evo is among the more expensive. Years ago I built a number of grills that could be raised and lowered, but I didn’t like the fact that I lost the ability to sear after raising the grill. I went with a solution of a bolted together angle iron tower that sets in a fire pit and has 3 levels to cook on

Flaws But Not Dealbreakers
We wish Weber would take a cue from some competitors and make the bars of its warming racks run front to back, parallel to the main grates. That way, you could easily slide a spatula under stuff thats warming. As it is, the warming-rack bars run edge to edge, and you have to awkwardly jimmy a spatula in there sideways.
The Spirit II E-310 should come with a grill cover. It doesnt, nor did any grill in our test group. Youll need to buy one separately; Webers dedicated Spirit II cover costs about $55, and a well-regarded generic cover costs about $20.
Should I Get A 2 Or 3 Burner Grill
Generally speaking, a 3 burner grill would have more cooking space than a 2-burner one due to the additional burner. But most of the time, the difference between the cooking surfaces dont have a very wide gap. But if you need more room to grill food for family and friends, you might want to go for a 3 burner option.

What Grills Are Better Than Weber
Weber does have a reputation for quality and the company is excellent when it comes to warranty support and after-sales service. Deciding what grills are better than Weber depends on your needs. Weber is a great brand, as are Napoleon and Broil King. Char-Broil is also reliable.
Which Is Better Broil King Or Weber
Both are solidly built grills with high-quality materials, but this is our verdict: Although Weber and Broil King both had a winner in each comparison category, the Broil King grills won in the best of three. Both the Baron 440 and the Weber Summit E-470 grills were almost identical in terms of size and heat.

How To Read Weber Grill Codes
Weber codes can be baffling at first, but they notate color, burners, and whether the grates and Flavorizer Bars are stainless or porcelain.
Stainless is better than porcelain because it lasts longer and weatherizes better over time.
I have reviewed the most popular grill from each category, but there are three Spirit models and four Genesis II models with tons of variations.
Each variation is its own code.
For example, let’s look at the Weber Genesis E-310. “E” stands for having an enameled porcelain lid and grates, the “3” is for three burners, and the “0” is for an open cart design. Five means closed cart.
We broke down all of Weber’s grill codes for each series below.
Gas Grill Vs Charcoal Grill
If youre buying a grill, your first decision is which type of fuel: charcoal or gas.
Gas grills offer three big benefits:
- Control: Adjusting the heat is a simple matter of turning the burner knobs, so you can easily prevent burning or undercooking, as well as create different heat zones by shutting down one or more burner . You can do the same with charcoal, too, but it takes workyou need to move the coals around and adjust the vents.
- Convenience: Gas grills turn on with the press of a button and heat up fast. Charcoal grills require 20 minutes or so to light the coals and another 10 minutes or so for the grates to heat up.
- Cleanliness: Gas grills dont generate much smoke and dont produce ash or embers the way charcoal grills do, so cleanup is simpleyou just have to brush and wipe the grates and empty the grease trap after youre done cooking.
That said, charcoal grills have several upsides of their own. Charcoal burns hotter than gas, so you can get a superior sear on burgers and steaks. You can buy an exceptional, do-everything charcoal grill for $150; gas grills start at around $200, and youll spend at least twice that on a really good one. Lastly, theres the romance factor: For some people, its more fun to play with fire than to twiddle a few knobs.

Charbroil Performance 2 Burner
The two-burner unit from Char Broil comes with an attractive design and an extremely affordable price, making this an integral choice for people who are just looking to enter the world of BBQ with a limited budget.
The Performance 2 Burner provides a total cooking area of 400 square inches with 300 square inches of primary cooking area and a warming rack that measures 100 square inches. Each burner puts out a maximum heat of 12,000 BTU for a combined total heat output of 24,000 BTU for the unit. With its smaller size, this lets you take advantage of excellent BTU per square inch value of 80 which can be significant if you want to cook your food fast and quickly develop those grill marks.
Char Broil gives customers the option to choose between an open cart design like the Weber and a closed cabinet design. If you like the accessibility of the open space in the cart, this can be an ideal choice. However, if you are looking for better organization and more secure storage, the closed cabinet style might be a better option.
The unit also has foldable shelves that can be used for prepping or holding food. A temperature gauge is mounted on the lid and four lockable casters that allow for a supreme range of motion. This Char Broil is also one of our favorite small gas grills that we reviewed.

Are Weber Grills Worth It
A Weber grill CAN be worth it if you buy the right one. Before we dive into the right and wrong Weber grill to buy though, lets talk about the core issues.
If you are asking the question about are they worth it then chances are that you have not used a Weber before. Does this sound like you:
- You bought an inexpensive grill at a Big Box store.
- You never really learned to master your grill skills.
- Grilling was more of a troubling adventure that a pure joy.
- You got disgusted with your grill, threw the rust bucket away and now need a new one.
Man, that was me for over a decade.
And then I bought my first Weber grill. Grilling became easy. I finally figured out how to grill chicken wings, burgers and steaks. I looked forward to firing up the grill every single night.
So yeah, to me they are worth it.
From a performance perspective what you get with a Weber that you dont get from a cheap grill is Control. It is easy to control temperatures, it is easy to control flare ups. You literally spend less time Fire Fighting and more time enjoying the flames.
From a value standpoint what you get with a Weber is long term savings. The Weber grill that you are about to buy is going to last you at least ten years. So, take a look at that price tag, divide it by ten, and that is your yearly cost to enjoy a great grilling machine. Compare that to the cost of buying and throwing away a cheap grill every year.
