While the Napoleon vs Weber debate has been simmering for some time now, the two brands are quite different in terms of experience and perception. Weber has been THE giant in the grill market for many decades and has a large, faithful user base.
Napoleon, on the other hand, is a Canadian upstart that is trying to get a foothold in the market with both premium and budget offerings while maintaining quality standards.

Buying Usa Made Grills
When coming to a final decision for the best USA made grills, there a few factors to consider. The quality of your grill is one of the most important things to look for. Luckily for consumers, USA made grills are known to have excellent, long-lasting quality.
One factor to think about is the cooking surface area. Primo and Holland both have decent sized cooking area while the Americana and PK Grills have less surface area. If you plan on cooking for a large group, more space is always better.
While most USA-made grills are built with high-quality materials, rust and durability should also be a concern. The Holland Freedom grill comes with a 5-year rust warranty and a lifetime warranty on the grates. PK Grills is built out of cast aluminum, including the joints, so rust wonât be an issue here.
Portability may also be a concern, especially if you need to transport the grill. The Swinger grill is the most portable option on this list, but several others also include wheels on the legs to help you move the grill. PK grills have a good system for breakdown for when you want to take your grill on an adventure. The cast iron will be be heavier than cast aluminum though!

Kevin says, Days after an estate sale in my neighborhood in northern Wisconsin, this WSM was found in the bushes, where it had been abandoned. The new homeowner told me to take it, as he knew I was a barbecue guy. I will need to reverse a mod, as the original owner converted it to propane, I believe, as evidenced by the holes in the base.
In the first photo, you can see the propane valve attached to the front leg of the charcoal bowl. In the third photo looking inside the charcoal bowl, the rectangular hole is probably access for the propane burner the small hole in the bottom is probably a weep hole for water.

I was looking at Big Green Eggs online, but I was appalled at their price and weight, so I was searching for a better alternative when I came across The Virtual Weber Bullet. The site convinced me that a WSM was what I needed, so I started searching Craigslist and found one for sale about 60 miles away in Kansas City. The pictures looked great, and when I got there the next day I found a well-used but wonderfully maintained WSM, so I paid the man and took it home!
The previous owner was a BBQ enthusiast and hed already changed to a Brinkmann water pan and installed a Tel-Tru thermometer, so I was ready to go as soon as I got home and I havent slowed down since. It was a huge surprise to find out that this WSM left the factory two years before I was born and it still cooks like a dream!
Weber settled the case out of court, but they made no effort to change their practices. In fact, most of the company manufactures most of their products in China these days. Up until 2016, Weber could still claim that their grills were Made in The USA with globally sourced components, but thats no longer the case.

Weber Grills was founded in 1952 and has been growing at an impressive rate ever since. Today, theyre one of the leaders in the grill industry and have a lot percent of market share in the United States. Being that they are such an established company, many people wonder if the company is sticking to its American roots and still making its grills in the USA.
In the rest of this article, well discuss exactly where Weber Grills are made and other important information about the company.
Most Weber Grills are made in the USA incorporating globally sourced parts, however, some are made in China and Taiwan. The Weber website makes it easy to see exactly which grill models are American made.
Another way you can tell where a Weber grill is made is simply by checking the label located inside the grills. Simply open the doors on the bottom of the grill and look for labels that look like this. This method is convenient if youre at the store and want to know exactly where the model looking at is manufactured.

Weber offers three popular product lines the Spirit line, the Genesis line, and the Summit line. Price and features-wise, these product lines correspond to entry-level, mid-range, and luxury offerings. As you go up in price, the more advanced models can give you more cooking area and heating capacity, more modern features like wireless monitoring, and an overall better quality of materials and construction.

Weber Grills is a name undeniably associated with backyard barbecues and picnic grills. Weber-Stephen was originally founded as Weber-Bros Metal Works back in 1893.
The company debuted in the field of grills in 1952. The legend is that George Stephen worked as an employee at Weber Bros Metal Works invented a new kind of grill.
George took two half buoys and made a new grill, which today is the world-famous Weber domed shape grill.
This was particularly useful as it helped avoid excessive toxin smoke from the grill. This grill was named Sputnik by Georges neighbors.
In the late 1950s, George Stephen bought the complete Weber Brother factory and became the sole owner of the venture. Another milestone was achieved by Weber Inc in 1989 when the company opened its first Grill restaurant in Wheeling, Illinois.
It was closed in 2010. Apart from it, the company opened four other restaurants in Lombard, Chicago, Schaumburg, and Indianapolis.
In a bankruptcy sale in 2004, the company purchased assets from Ducane Products, one of its rivals. Until 2010, the business was passed down through the families.
In 2010, Byron David Trott, BDT Capital Ventures, acquired a majority stake in Weber Inc, and since then, they have been running this business.

The code schemes described below represent a grills model year, not a calendar year. Webers model year runs from . For example, a grill with date code DE is part of the 2009 model year and may have been manufactured anytime between 10/1/2008 and 9/30/2009. Its also possible that for any given model year, a few remaining vent dampers from the previous model year were carried forward and used-up after the start of a new model year.

There are not that many significant differences between the two. One the one hand, Napoleon is slightly less expensive and does give you a larger primary cooking area, but the Weber is also great and has some cool features. While they are both easy to use, the Weber will probably suit the beginner better than Napoleon.

A To Z List Of Pellet Grill/smoker Brands
Back in 2007 when I first become aware of pellet grills and smokers the only brand I was really aware of was Traeger. Traeger is really where this whole concept of cooking with pellets started in the 1980s. It was a slow burner but since the 2010s is really when pellet grills and smokers started to get mainstream awareness, discussed alongside gas and charcoal grills. There are now over 30 pellet grill/smoker brands that Im aware of, and the link above goes to my A to Z list of brands article.
Now, you may already be aware of a few of the other brands such as Pit Boss, Camp Chef, Z Grills and Im sure you are aware of Weber, though you may not have known they have entered the pellet grill game. However, they are now many, many more brands to look into. Some may be what are commonly referred to as Traeger clones, but many others are offering their own unique designs and features.

Verdict: Are Weber Grills Made In The Usa
Although Weber is headquartered in the U.S. and has their primary manufacturing facilities in Palatine and Huntley, Illinois, they can no longer claim to be made in the USA for many of their products because they have some components of their grills that are imported.
They had a fallout in 2012 when Weber had a class action lawsuit brought against them about their Made in the USA stamp on all of their products. All of their engineering and grill assembly is done in their Illinois facilities, but since a small percentage of their grill components are imported from other countries, many consumers felt like they were being mislead with the Made in the USA label. Weber ended up settling on the case in order to avoid further litigation costs on both sides.
Unfortunately, it seems like Weber still cannot say that their grills are made in the USA. And even for the ones that are assembled here, many have the label Made in the USA incorporating globally sourced component parts. The Genesis II is a good example of that, shown here .

Unfortunately, we couldnt find any Weber grills that dont have globally sourced components or assembly.
