Ingredients you will need:
- 1-3 oz. pkg. cream cheese
- 1/2 C. mayonnaise
- 1 C. shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 C. shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
Ready 10 slices Italian bread. We sliced our own out of a loaf.
In a mixing bowl, place 3 oz. cream cheese.
Add 1/2 cup mayonnaise.
Add 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese.
Add 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese.
Add 1/2 tsp. garlic powder and 1/4 tsp. seasoning salt. Stir thoroughly until blended.
Spread mixture across 5 slices Italian bread.
Once mixture is spread, add another slice to each existing piece.
On a skillet set to medium or medium-high, melt 2 tablespoons butter.
Place sandwiches on skillet and cook.
Cook until they start to brown. Once they start browning, they will harden quickly, so pay close attention.
Once sandwiches are browned, remove from heat. Cut in half or other desired portion.

Mayo Or Butter When And How
My cheesemonger friend got me onto using mayonnaise instead of butter.
Its always spreadable, it gives you a fabulous golden-brown crust thats not as apt to burn as butter, and it offers just a little zip.
My favorite brands are Hellmanns/Best Foods and Dukes. I havent tried Miracle Whip , but I figure its too sweet to work well here. You can also make your own mayoits actually just as easy as making a grilled cheese!
Give mayonnaise a shot! Use the same amount as you would butter.
If you are 100 percent Team Butter, I understand. You can either butter the bread directly or melt a pat of butter in the pan. I prefer to butter the bread directly, but lets say your butter is straight from the fridge and rock-hard. In that case, melt it in the pan.

I love traveling to Europe! Ive had the opportunity to visit Switzerland four times to sample the best Swiss dishes, which are served everywhere from cute local restaurants to luxurious Michelin starred dining rooms. Ive explored the best Swiss Chocolate Shops and learned to make traditional Tartiflette Reblochon at home.
